The brief
Sapori needed to feel like a family kitchen and a modern London café at the same time — warm and soulful, without leaning on nostalgia or the usual Italian restaurant clichés.
The idea
No tomatoes. No pasta. No tricolore. The identity starts with a rising sun over a winding path, framed in a soft arch: a Tuscan morning rather than a picture of Italian food. That gave the brand a world to build from — a palette, a pattern and a visual language — instead of a collection of familiar symbols.
The identity
- The mark brings the sun, the path and the arch together in one simple form.
- The wordmark takes its cues from early 20th-century Italian shopfront lettering, with soft arches and a subtle stroke contrast.
- The palette — terracotta, olive and warm sand — comes from the Tuscan landscape, not the Italian flag.
- Merriweather Sans does the everyday work on menus, packaging and digital.
- A repeatable pattern gives Sapori recognition without putting the logo on everything.
Where it lives
From the shopfront sign and coffee cups to takeaway bags, menus, stationery, uniforms and social media, every touchpoint uses the same language while letting each format do its own job. The goal wasn't to make everything identical — it was to make everything feel like it comes from the same place.
